'Thinking outside the Tick Box' -Skype April 1st 9pm

This was a group discussion across all three modules. Some of the distinct points I took from this discussion were...
-Think outside the box
-Nothing in this course is a tick box activity.
-Don't make assumptions and when you do, question them!

I realised I was looking at the handbook and criteria for the essay in a very linear fashion. I was focusing on a lens per paragraph not taking into account that these various lens can intertwine and impact on each other.
There is certainly nothing linear about my practice and life in general so why am I tempting to write in this way?
As described by our tutor, the handbook is the choreography you are given. It is then up to you to interpret this choreography and make it your own!!!

    Thanks!

  2. Hey Kate-Anne, I found what you mentioned about questioning your assumptions very interesting. This is similar to what we spoke about in detail during the morning call, which was centered around ethics. We came to the conclusion that the way we see the world (our assumptions) are through what we have been taught to think or through previous experience. I have learned that it is sometimes better to take a step back and to look at the bigger picture. I go into more detail over on my blog if you are interested in checking this out. https://cathleenlimerick.blogspot.com/2020/04/critical-reflection-and-ethics-skype.html
